Hm, not sure why the note above says that this winery is closed to the public. I pulled into the parking lot at noon on a Tuesday and the door to the winery was wide open, with a note in the window instructing me to honk my horn for service. I did so, and met the owner, a very charming older gentleman from Frankfurt Germany who takes pride in his German style wines. He makes very capable Burgundian style wines, and opens his patio for homemade sausage and crackers and wine on weekends, complete with piped in German music. He's growing some curious grapes, including some stock from the motherland. Nice Traminette blend, and a good pinot noir style blend with St. Vincent and Chambourcin. Young wines, but will likely improve with age. Definitely worth stopping in the next time you're on Hwy 50 in Osage County.
