Favorite Wine: Cassis

A nice fruit orchard that is also making wine. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner Sue and her daughter at the tasting bar. Brookview offers tastings and sells their wines plus limited examples from one other winery and a local winemaker. We didn't try the fruit wines nor the whites here. They had a light to medium-bodied European varietals which were fine but unremarkable. Very little oaking or at least very little oak flavor in their wines. I didn't care for their Vignoles or Cream Sherry at all. I found their Cassis very unique (at least to me as the uninitiated in New York wineries) and a very fun sweet wine. Sort of toward the port end of the spectrum perhaps. I would visit this winery and owner again although we liked some others in the 1 hour radius better.
