Spent the night, literally, in the parking lot waiting for this winery's noon Sunday opening. What a beautiful setting overlooking vineyards, Keuka finger lake and the opposing hillsides. A very large tasting room is set up to handle the anticipated numbers of visitors to this setting. The free tasting is artfully handled by a well trained staff. A wide selection of sparkling, white and red wines are offered during the tasting, but you can also select a wine of your choice from the extensive wine menu. Traditional fare to the unique, as their Rkatsiteli, are presented. Though not truly to our taste, we did leave with interesting examples of Gewurztraminer, Rkatsiteli and Lemberger wines.

Favorite Wine: Dry Riesling

Wonderful! The wines were just fantastic - the dry Riesling and gewürztraminer were excellent. Our attendant was very well schooled in wines and even suggested some that weren't on our tasting sheet that were great. The winery itself seemed relaxed and friendly, not stuffy and uppity. The view of Keuka was spectacular also. I will return here!

Oh the father of NY wines..wonderfully staffed and willing to share rich history and philosophy of Dr. Frank. Views are amazing, and tasting was focused.

Favorite Wine: all that sparkles, Rainbow rose

Dr. Frank's is an institution. Only champagne I have ever liked. Worth the trip. Plan to spend some time. Try to go in off season so you can talk to the staff. They are cool.
