Buck Shoals Vineyard and Winery

The owner of this winery passed away early in 2011 and this may explain the attitude of his spouse. She has now sold out to Shadow Springs which is just a little ways away. This vineyard is one of only two licensed distilleries in the State so they could produce fortified wines.

Favorite Wine: never got to tast anything because of the RUDE wine tasting WITCH !

Please DO NOT waste your time going to this winery...we walked in after a day of wine touring & was excited visiting this winery...we were greeted like WHY ARE YOU HERE...the lady who does the wine tasting was rude, horrible and basically let us know she did not care if we were there or not...we ask to taste a few wines & she acted like we ask for her right arm...after her several small 'ACT' remarks to us we turned around and moved on to the next winery...we were ready to spend money to purchase their wines, but after we were treated SO RUDE, we left...DON'T waste your time going to this winery on your tour... visit the much nicer and friendly vineyards in the area !

Seven acres of vineyards producing Chardonnay, Chambourcin, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Traminette, Barbera, Petit Verdot, Pinot Grigio and Sangiovese grapes. Except for a Chardonnay, a Cab Sauv, a port style wine made with a NC brandy and a honey mead wine, all other selections were blends. The owner/vintner, JoAnn Crater, heads up a big production project on her own in this rural setting.

Nov 08-Disappointed with the tasting experience - owners/staff not friendly. Wines were pretty good.
