It is an amazing facility, I dont like having to walk up to a bar and being treated like cattle being milked, the prices are way inflated and the products arent that great! Also, can someone please explain to me what a Scuppadine is, and why someone would pay to have such a slaughter of southern culture printed on thier lables!

Arriving at Childress Vineyards you feel like you are going back into a forgotten time. Romance fills the air as you step through the double doors that lead you inside this tuscan styled villa. The rich mohagany mouldings and earth tone colors makes everyone feel warm and welcome. There's so much to see and do here. The Bistro serves a delectable assortment of antipasta platters as well as a scrumptous Sunday brunch. I highy recommend taking the tour and coming back in the fall for Harvestfest and stomp the grapes just like "Lucy". After the tour head to the tasting room and ask for the Signature Tasting this is the best deal by far. For 15.00 each you will taste the best wines they have to offer plus two crystal wine glasses giftwrapped to take home. Try a piece of choclate with the Merlot and taste the flavors explode on your palate. My girlfriend swears she has found the place she wants to get married at and they do have a Bridal Suite at the winery. This is a beautiful place to visit. Come during the growing season and enjoy the live music or have a picnic on the grounds.

Favorite Wine: 2004 Library Edition Meritage

Not only does Mr. Childress know NASCAR Racing he also has a PASSION for wine! On November 19 2008 [2] business colleagues and I visited Childress Vineyards. Wait, let me back up a second. The [3] of us were on our way to Childress Vineyards and we placed a call to the tasting room to see what time they were open until to which they responded 4:30pm and by my watch I knew that they were going to be closed before we got there. But, they said that they would stay and provide us with a tasting. Needless to say we were very happy about this. When we got there, we picked out and paid for the tasting we wanted [We Highly recommend their Signature Tasting @ $15.00]. We then proceeded with our tasting. The lady that provided our tasting [I believe her name was Amy] was very, very knowledgable and provide us the best tasting experience that I have ever had during a tasting, period. On top of this the wines were Excellent with my favorite being the 2004 Library Edition Meritage!!!! The 2005 Reserve Merlot and the 2005 Signature Chardonnay were Wonderful as well. Additionally, their [2] Dessert Wines [Polar & Starbound] were Outstanding. I HIGHLY recommend a visit and a tasing at Childress Vineyards. The winery, people, ambiance, and the WINES are Wonderful! Favorite Wine: Pinnacle Meritage

In a word....Awesome! one of the most beautiful wineries we have ever visited. the wines were fantastic and led us to believe that NC may be the next big wine state. This is a "must see" winery about an hour north of Charlotte.
