Favorite Wine: Several favorites
Wow ! Am I surprised to read this. I know Fred. He has taught me many things about wines and even how they are made. He is very knowledgeable, as are most wineries I have visited. This is something he would not allow. I have been to the tasting several times, with different people, and they usually do very well. I have never been " NOT ALLOWED " to try any wine I requested. I hope Laurlabeth will give it another try. I like so very many of the wines, I have no favorite. Happy tasting Laurlabeth, and everyone else out there.

Favorite Wine: Lynfred 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve
My experience is the opposite of Laurlabeth's, and thing she should give Lynfred another try if she had a bad experience. I visit Lynfred Winery regularly, and have been for years. The folks there are always extremely friendly and attentive, and go out of their way to make your visit special. I also find Lynfred's wines to be of outstanding/exceptional quality, though my preferences tend to the dryer red wines they produce. Lynfred produces many wonderful, top quality red wines, their tasting room is beautiful, as is the adjoining shop. This place is a true treasure of a local attraction.

Easy to locate in Roselle, the ivy covered walls enhanced the beautiful setting. While the wines maybe pleasing, the visit unfortunately turned sour when we finally managed to get the employees to acknowledge our existence. During the entire visit the staff was rude and belligerent. This apparently was not just our opinion, but to others in the tasting room/shop as well – one person commented they were made to feel it was the staffs opinion that WE should be honored to be allowed to sample their product. I do not have a problem paying for samples, however, it was only after payment was made and the first sample poured that we were informed we could not selected the wines we wished to taste. I favor wines toward the sweeter end and on this particular day, the shop had selected dry wines for sampling. Since the wine poured, a refund was refused and when I asked, since this was the case, could I try some of the sweeter wines on the list (which I might add, were opened). I was told not so politely “NO” and my glass was taken. At this point another couple left with the lady saying, “Lets just go, I’m not staying here”. My husband did sample a few, and commented that they were ‘OK’ we left shortly thereafter and will not be returning. As a postscript: Recently we were in another of the areas wineries and the gentleman behind the counter asked where we had been. When I listed Lynfred, the comments offered by others in the room were similar to ours.
