Favorite Wine: Capitol View red

Our trip to WunderRosa Winery was on a sunny, crisp Sunday afternoon in late October. I was out once again on a quest for good wine and happy times with my fellow Wine Goobers. The WunderRosa winery consists of a small room with a seating area that contains four comfy chairs, the rest of the room holds the bar, a small area for purchasing t-shirts and gift items, and several tables with chairs. The woman working was friendly and helpful and soon the room was filled with other guests. First we tried the Capitol View Red. It was semi-sweet, as described in the flier found on the table and everyone agreed that it was delicious! Our next choice was Cottontail 2009. The flier described it as a sweet white wine, but we found it to be more tart than sweet. After that we tried samples of Capitol View White which was described as being similar to a Riesling, but was nothing at all like a true Riesling (I’ve lived in Germany and tasted Riesling…this is not it) and HR Blush, which was quite tart even though the flier described it as a sweet blush wine (we all took a sip of each of these from a sample glass offered by the hostess). We all agreed that both of these were too tart / bitter and instead opted for another bottle (or two) of the Capitol View Red. Our visit to WunderRosa was fun, but honestly, the best part of this day was the company...lots of great conversation, laughter, and some tears with some of the finest women I know. Sadly, the wine did not measure up to our expectations. Now we just need to decide where to go next!

Very friendly service. Complimentary wine glass with tasting,$5. Small space, but nice. Outdoor seating on patio.
