Favorite Wine: Didn't have one here
This isn't going to be a very positive review but let me buffer that with my wife liked the wine here better than I did. Also the proprietor and winemaker, an elderly man with an absolutely delightful, dry sense of humor make you want to like the wine even if you're having a difficult time doing so like me. The grounds are immaculate and the landscaping and flowers are wonderful. The tasting room is very clean. The plastic white tables and tastings only from small plastic cups detract from it all though at least for me. But Orville is doing it his way and that is his prerogative. Now to the wines. They all had the herbaceous flavor that was really a bad thing for me. Having said that, I think this may be just the way Orville prefers them. I think this wine had traits in common with what we have tasted before at Windcrest. The two wineries are in the same general area so perhaps it has something to do with terroir. The winemakers at the two locations are both elderly and perhaps maybe of similar ethnicity or something that this is a style their group of friends like. Probably not bad winemaking. Just not a style I appreciate. The wines here all had this herbaceous thing going. Actually I think they all had a clove flavor to them. White or red the clove signature was there. Back to the terroir possibility. James Arthur has some very nice whites but their reds too had just a hint of this clove flavor when we visited them later in the day. My advice is go see Orville and try his wines and make up your own mind. Maybe you will like them. Maybe it's just me but a 1 rating on the wine means I don't want to taste them again.

Favorite Wine: Didn't find one we liked
The Goober Girls were on a mission – it was Sunday afternoon and we were looking for a winery where we could spend the afternoon enjoying wine and excellent company. We had the company, and the winery found was Prime Country. The map says it’s in Denton but it’s actually closer to Crete. The service was OK (nothing we would drink to!). The wine was uninspired. We tried the Nebraska Red and Lancaster White, and Lancaster Red. These are all supposedly medium sweet to sweet but were actually quite dry. We also tasted the Elderberry which is a specialty there but none of us were impressed with that either. All in all it was a good day due to the sunshine and sparkling conversation, we almost didn’t even notice the wine left much to be desired.

I was not impressed. The wine tasting is out of plastic shot cups. I asked a couple of basic questions and got smart ass answers. I bought a bottle of wine only because I purchased a voucher online, but wouldn't buy it again.

Favorite Wine: Lancaster White
We visited about a month back. The winery had some pleasantly surprising wines, and the view of the surrounding area was quite pretty.

Favorite Wine: St. Croix
This place was pretty hard to find. We drove past the sign twice. These wines had a real homemade taste to them. I thought they were all a little too sweet. The couple that ran the place was very nice.
