Favorite Wine: Nothing stood out

I had been hearing good things about this winery, so on a recent trip to Indy decided to check it out. We were the first couple in on a Saturday, and they were not ready for business. O.K. - no big deal, it's happened before. We finally got to the tasting, and as I was questioning our server about the wines, I found she didn't know anything about the products or wine in general. After our tasting, I asked if they had any cheese/meat plates, our server didn't know, however a manager type was walking by and heard the conversation. She assured us they did have charcuterie, and brought us a tray of meat and cheese that looked like it would have been on special at the grocery store. The tray was o.k. - the cheddar stood out, but it was probably the last day it should have been available for sale. The manager type person apologized with the old :we're new and only been open a few weeks". You should try harder especially when new. As for the venue - it looked like more of an event center than a winery. The wine - O.K. - nothing spectacular. An overall meh visit. I won't go out of my way to go back, but if your in the area stop by and judge for yourself.
