Moonrise Bay Vineyard (written Oct 22, 2009)
Wine: 1 stars Winery: 2 stars Ambiance: 3 stars
The tasting associate was so friendly and eager to tell us about the winery and wines. The wines really lacked over all. It may be the salty air or the flat land - I;m not sure. I bought a few bottles in appreciation of the hospitality but would not recommend the wines at this time. If I pass through agian, I'll give it another try. For now, shop the gift shop only if you stop.

Gruet Winery (written Oct 22, 2009)
Wine: 4 stars Winery: 2 stars Ambiance: 2 stars
It was a treat to visit this winery during my visit to NM. The wines were nice and I purchased 6 bottles while there. I was not impressed with the boom box that played music for the small tasting room. The songs were not appropriate for the atmosphere. The staff did not seem interested in the customers which was a disappointment. I did enjoy the wine though - I'd go back and recommend it with slight reservations.

Breaux Vineyards (written Oct 22, 2009)
Wine: 5 stars Winery: 5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars
What a beautiful and hidden gem in Virginia! The wines were excellent and the atmosphere inviting. I found their staff the be both knowledgeable and friendly and I felt comfortable taking my time during the tasting and asking questions. I was never rushed or felt processed. Samples of recently harvested grapes from their vineyard were offered during my tasting which was a lovely treat. Their wines were world-class and the tasting portions generous enough to really taste the wine. I enjoyed the 2008 Viognier and the 2001 and 2002 Nebbiolo the best. I bought a 2001 which is not offered on the regular tasting sheet. This winery has it all! Great wine and a lovely story with a friendly staff the present it all. I'll go back and send my friends.
