San Sebastian Winery (written Jul 03, 2011)
Wine: 4 stars Winery: 4 stars Ambiance: 5 stars
Touristy is an apt description for this place. Wine is good and the tour was ok. Was a bigger operation for the "local winery". Good to stop in though if your in the area and are new to the muscadine grape varitels.

Tangled Oaks Vineyard (written Jul 03, 2011)
Wine: 4 stars Winery: 3 stars Ambiance: 4 stars
Third in a trip of a trio that day. Owner Dave Dacasto spoke with and offered us tasting of their muscadine vine varieties. Very friendly and seems to be a good operation. Deffinetly sweet wines but the Belle Amie Blanc is a "drier" type sutible for meals. There is also a great little shop with local crafts to explore.

Royal Manor Vineyard and Winery (written Jul 03, 2011)
Wine: 4 stars Winery: 5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars
Let me start by saying that this was my favorite winery I visited on our trip. Joe Pasco, owner, was out tending vines when we got there. We did not annouce our visit but he took the time to have us taste his wines, show us both the vineyard and berry bushes, and show us the equipment/ operation center. They had a wide variety of fruit wines, their specialty. My thoughts were Boone's farm, but this is stuff is the real deal. I can attest to actually seeing blueberry mash, no fruit flavoring here. I wanted to buy a case of each just to spread the fruit wine gospel. Be sure to give everything a chance as there is a wine for somebody here, even if you are not a fruit wine drinker.

Log Cabin Farm & Vineyard and Winery (written Jul 03, 2011)
Wine: 4 stars Winery: 3 stars Ambiance: 4 stars
Log Cabin vineyard and winery has a down home feel and familar feeling. It was the first one my wife and I visited that day and we were treated to a tour and tasting. It was July 4th weekend and a small party was being held with locals coming in to participate. We could not stay but wished we had left more time to do so. They specialized in Muscadine wines, sweet to the taste of course and not for everybody. Good time though and staff was extremely friendly. Cannot wait to take some friends back for their harvest festival.
