Bell Springs Winery (written Jun 10, 2011)
Wine: 5 stars Winery: 5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars
I visited Bell Springs Winery last weekend and ended up joining the wine club as well. I was surprised to read to the review above about another winery saying they may not actually process their own wines. The owner gave me a tour of the production room and they have at least 10 different varietals of wines in tanks at various stages (fermentation, being aged, etc.). They are in the process of expanding the production area as well. It sounds to me like the other winery that said that is trying to make Bell Springs look bad because business is going well. The tasting room was busy, but not overcrowded and the wines across the board were good. They don't make wines from their own grapes, but most Texas wineries don't as well. I would recommend this winery as a the first place to go to really taste great wines.
