Newport Vineyards (written Jun 24, 2008)
Wine: 5 stars Winery: 5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars
Bravo! A beautiful tasting room. With lots of wine choices -- too many to name.....at least 40. My husband and I tried 5 each -- each one was wonderful. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The Tranquility wine was our favorite!

Sharpe Hill Vineyard (written Jun 24, 2008)
Wine: 3 stars Winery: 1 stars Ambiance: 2 stars
My husband and I took a long awaited visit to this vineyard over the weekend. I am a big fan of the Ballet of Angels wine, and was looking forward to doing their tasting. Our first impression was poor. We called twice to get directions, and were hung up on. When we did find the location, we enjoyed the outside -- as it is rustic and beautiful. The winetasting area/room, was very small, although nicely decorated. The staff were not knowledgeable and we had to ask for each wine on our 5 list. We were not explained what the grapes were, or told history about them. Instead were told "everything is on the list". It was very low class service, with a "drop" of wine in each glass -- one sip to each tasting....RITZ crackers were served, after asking for crackers to clean our palet. I thought that was tacky. We were very disappointed. We have visited several vineyards on the Ct Wine Trail, and this one is at the bottom of our list, especially due to customer service.
