Umbra Winery (written Sep 01, 2010)
Wine: 1 stars Winery: 1 stars Ambiance: 3 stars
1st visit was a shameful. I write for a regional publication and specialize in food & wine. So I returned. This is a quote from an employee that sums it up (no joke) - " Our business is a joke. We lure customers into a 'winery' that really has nothing more to do with wine making then just phoning in a recipe to another real winery so we can resell to dumb patrons that think we're running a winery" Wow, this was crazy. So I inquired more, thinking what does this person really think? ha "Hey everyone, we'er a virtual winery, no really, it's a trend. The winery is virtual. We buy grapes from grape growers, then we make the wine where other people make wine, we then put our own packaging on it and sell you on an experience that never really happened. We don't actually taste it till you do. Coming here is like visiting a circus, not a winery. It's not really here" haha, No joke. Anyway, if it's the last place on Earth to accept my money than I might return. After all, they do sell bottled water.
