Windham Vineyards (written Aug 22, 2007)
Wine: 2 stars Winery: 1 stars Ambiance: 1 stars
I recently visited the winery and met one of the owners (I assume she is an owner he picture is in the brochure) and was not impressed with the wines or hospitality. The winery is on a county road away from other businesses but I was told there was no restroom even though I was tasting the wines. We were not offered a tour or given any history of the winery, but rather greeted exactly the same as the couple who walked in after us, with a hurried "The tastings are a dollar each, the dollar is refundable with the purchase of a bottle, if you tell me what type of wine you like I can make suggestions, can I ask you how you found the place?" We felt alienated right away and the wine did not comfort us any. After 4 samples, we were charged $5.40. I guess she counted wrong and charged us tax.
