Very often, people rated wines or vineyards in the Midwest region as so-so because there weren't many information or people talking about wines from the heartland. In my opinion, wines from the midwest are diamonds in the rough.
I last visted Stone Hill winery back in summer of 2009. I remembered being very excited about this trip because it was my first visit to any vineyard or winery in my whole life!
Stone Hill has a history dating back to the 1800s and is considered one of the pionner vineyards.They had have produced a number of award-winning wines. If you have the chance to visit, you will not be disappointed.
Beautiful surrouding and the wine tour were pretty impressive.
Also, Hermann is a nice small town that still retained some old German tradition. Check out the local restaurants and festivals
