Shaw Vineyard is owned and operated by Steve Shaw, a seasoned grower of fine vinifera grapes used by some of the most prestigious wineries in the Finger Lakes. He has recently opened his own winery with the winemaking help of Morten Hallgren of Ravines Cellars. This team has produced a small collection of some truly outstanding wines. Don't expect a long list of non-descript wines here! The attention to detail is evident as one explores the flavors of 5 or 6 wines made here. I've tasted some of the best Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon made in the Finger Lakes, as well as the Riesling which is a Finger Lakes hallmark.
Steve presents his wines in a comfortable, refined atmosphere; Steve himself, with his knowledgable and easy-going personality makes the visit a memorable one. Call before visiting - the hours vary with the seasons.
