Wine: Winery: Ambiance:
You will not believe what a beautiful winery this is until you see it. The wines were very good and the services was great! Be sure to bring a picnic and sit outside overlooking the grounds.
Becker Vineyards (written Feb 17, 2010)
Wine: Winery: Ambiance:
This winery was so wonderful and friendly. My husband and I stopped by one afternoon for a tasting and ended up becoming members. The wines were are tasty, the service was excellent, and the grounds were beautiful. I look forward to going back and visiting soon!
Pedernales Cellars (written Feb 17, 2010)
Wine: Winery: Ambiance:
On a weekend afternoon we stopped in at Pedernales. It was by far the worst experience of any winery we have ever been too. We were the only customers there. The lady behind the bar was rude and unfriendly. We were made to feel as if we were a complete inconvenience.
We walked in, she put two glasses down and told us the price of a tasting. When we said we were doing the wine trail, she rolled her eyes, took the Pedernales glasses away, slammed down 2 generic glasses, and told us what we could choose. Her description of the vino blanco was "This is a white wine." She then walked to a back room to talk to someone.
She made NO effort to describe the wines or tell us anything about the place. Even asking to get our passports stamped resulted in a big sigh and eye roll as if we were a huge bother and waste of her time.
It was so uncomfortable, we drank our tastings and got out of there as fast as we could. Neither of us could believe someone in that position, on a high traffic weekend, could make people feel as uncomfortable as she made us.
