Summerset Winery is located just south of Des Moines (approx 5 miles) and offers a great variety of excellent wines. You can stop in any day of the week (except Mondays) to sample the wines for free! We love going to their live outdoor concert series: Sunday Tunes (every Sunday, all year long!) You can purchase chilled wine by the bottle to enjoy amongst the amazing landscape of grapevines and countryside. After living in Italy for years, this was by far the closest thing we've found to an Italian style winery, right in the heart of Iowa! The people and the ambiance are “fantastico†and we can’t wait to get back! Summerset Winery is a wonderful place to visit anytime and with anyone!
