Favorite Wine: viognier
Very good wines and a pleasant tasting room. Hubby enjoyed the wine tour.

Favorite Wine: Phileo
We've always loved Barboursville, but it can get quite crowded and rushed, and you're forced to move from tasting station to station. On our last visit, we booked a reservation at the restaurant and had a lovely, leisurely lunch, with plenty of great wines to try and enjoy.
Barrel Oak Winery (written Jul 27, 2009)

Jackpot! A great time with the dogs, the great lunch plates, and (of course) awesome wine that was fun to drink! We spent several hours there, and could have stayed there all afternoon. And, this winery has the most customer-friendly hours. Kudos!!
Pearmund Cellars (written Jul 27, 2009)
Wine: Winery: Ambiance:
Favorite Wine: chardonnay
Loved the Chardonnay, the Ameritage and the white dessert wine. Unfortunately, we were a bit rushed, but they were very accommodating at the late hour.
Shenandoah Vineyards (written Jul 27, 2009)
Wine: Winery: Ambiance:
Favorite Wine: shenandoah blanc
Beautiful views and a lovely breeze out on the veranda. Staff was warm and friendly. Their Shenandoah Blanc is a great white table wine.
Philip Carter Winery (written Jul 27, 2009)
Wine: Winery: Ambiance:
Was disappointed that the chardonnay was not bottled yet (apparently the deer ate all the grapes!). But we've always like the ambiance and the dog-friendly nature of the winery, so we'll be back!
Naked Mountain Vineyard (written Jul 27, 2009)
Wine: Winery: Ambiance:
Favorite Wine: 2005 founders chardonnay
Loved the chardonnay, and the "drink naked" t-shirts (as gifts of course!). Staff was very friendly and knowledge.
Chateau O'Brien at Northpoint Winery (written Jul 27, 2009)

I can't rate the wine because they wouldn't let us in! As we tugged on the locked door 15 mins before closing time, we heard them say "uh oh". We could see people inside and a couple of cars in the parking lot. As we were pulling out of the driveway, one of their staff members came out to smoke a cigarette. I guess the staff wanted to close early, so they locked the doors early. Not very professional or classy, so we moved along, and found another more accommodating winery (Pearund) to visit!
