Vermilion Valley Vineyards (written Nov 19, 2011)
Wine: 4 stars Winery: 5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars

Favorite Wine: Cherry

A newer winery building without the weathered look. Some employees are quite knowledgeable and helpful, others could use more training.

Paper Moon Vineyards (written Nov 19, 2011)
Wine: 4 stars Winery: 5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars

Favorite Wine: Fedonia

Great place to visit and easy access from Route 2.

Heineman Winery (written Nov 19, 2011)
Wine: 5 stars Winery: 5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars

Favorite Wine: Concord

The Islands grow a lot of grapes because of the great climate. Heineman's has a great patio with cement tables in the back where you can enjoy the sunshine and watch the grapes growing along the fence. Have some wine with a plate of cheese and crackers and it feels like a European Cafe. Whenever I visit the South Bass, I make it a point to visit.

Matus Winery (written Nov 18, 2011)
Wine: 5 stars Winery: 5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars

Favorite Wine: Purple Haze

One of my favorite places to visit. Courteous, friendly, helpful staff. Always seem to go beyond what you expect with hospitality. Laid back atmosphere, but some great tasting wines. Food is great.

Firelands Winery (written Nov 18, 2011)
Wine: 5 stars Winery: 5 stars Ambiance: 4 stars

Favorite Wine: Can never buy just one

A winery with a great tasting selection of either sweet or dry wines makes it easy for visitors. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Quite a few good wines with the Mantey wines also available.

Quarry Hill Winery (written Nov 18, 2011)
Wine: 5 stars Winery: 5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars

Favorite Wine: Buckeye Red

Outstanding view from the top of the hill in this modern building. You can look over the vines and surrounding countryside. Very nice wines, lobster bisque, and service.

D & D Smith Winery, LLC (written Nov 18, 2011)
Wine: 5 stars Winery: 4 stars Ambiance: 4 stars

Favorite Wine: Pumpkin

Located in an older house. The atmosphere was not elegant, but the wines had interesting flavors. The Cupid wine has a great aroma and interesting colored bottle. The Pumpkin brings the Holidays home with a taste.

Chateau Tebeau Winery (written Nov 18, 2011)
Wine: 5 stars Winery: 5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars

Located off the beaten path, this winery has a beautiful interior. Great place to also grab a sandwich. I enjoyed the warm interior and design.

Hidden in the mild hills of Amish country just a bit off Interstate 77. Also friendly and quite a variety of wines. A great place to visit, especially when the leaves turn color.
