There wasn’t any sign at the turn off on the main highway. Luckily I had a cell phone so the owner could redirect me to the winery. He only had four types of wine to choose from and all were on the dryer side. I prefer the sweeter wines. The tasting room looks like he has just opened and hasn’t had time to decorate yet. I was surprised when the owner said he has been open for five years.

I'm an OU fan and if it weren’t for trying to visit all the wineries in OK I wouldn’t have any reason to go to Stillwater Ok. If you have to be in Stillwater OK there is a nice winery to visit. It is very charming with it’s loose stone floor and easy to find.

Talk about your old school charm! This is literally the place for it. The winery is actually located in a very old school that was very tastefully restored. They have a very nice tour showing how the school came about with a lot of history of the local area. The nice people working there are very charming as well. They have a lot of wine choices and very reasonable prices.

Not too far off interstate 40 and signs on every corner you turn at makes this winery fairly easy to find. There is a small but well planned out and organized shop with an area for tasting. They have several varieties of red and white wines to choose from. I prefer the sweeter wines and the Cabernet Franc was my choice.

I didn’t know what to expect when I turned on to the dirt road and had to drive over three more miles to get there. I was very pleased though when I arrived. I was surprised to see a new building set in the woods just past the vineyard. The building is large enough and set up right if your planning on having a small wedding. In fact they were setting up for one during my visit. There is also an area outside with tables for a nice picnic under the shade trees. Oh they also have wine, some very good wines in fact. To me this winery is well worth the trip.

My Daughter, Rachel and I Went to the address listed on the website. When we arrived we were surprised to find it was a very nice house in pleasant rural addition. We saw some winery equipment and the half-acre of grapevines led us to believe we were at the right address. We rang the doorbell but know one answered so I decided to call the phone number listed on the website. Mrs. Martin answered the phone and informed us we were at the right place but her husband was not home and they take appointments for wine tasting and tours. I apologized for not knowing this and explained that we were from Enid and the website didn’t say anything about appointments. She welcomed us into her home and we had a very nice time. My daughter made friends instantly with two beautiful resident cats.
They don’t have your typical storefront with the wine tasting/gift shop. I believe they have something much better, a very relaxed homey atmosphere to taste their wine. You see currently their dinning room is the gift shop and the prep island in their kitchen is the wine tasting area where we tasted some outstanding wines. Most of their wines have won either locally, state, or national awards. I’m not an expert on wines by any means but I know what I like and I liked their wines. They are planning on building a storefront with the wine tasting/gift shop. I just hope they keep the same down to earth friendly atmosphere that they have now. I would definitely recommend visiting them and their wines.

I tried calling Moonfeathers Winery using the number listed on the website only to hear a recording that the number called is not a working number. I hoped the web designer had only made a typo and headed out for a visit. I picked up my daughter Rachel who goes with me and we headed out. It was a raining dreary day so we were looking forward to getting there. Unfortunately when we did the gate was closed, the building’s windows were dark, the grass and weeds were overgrown and there wasn’t any kind of sign. We couldn’t figure out for sure if they were out of business, closed for the season, or just closed for the day. From the way it looked our guess was closed for business all together and that was what we heard from the next winery we traveled to. So if you are planning on visiting the Moonfeathers Winery I would confirm that they are open for business somehow prior to venturing there.

Aug 2007 my daughter and I visited the Indian Creek Village it’s located one-mile west and about one-quarter mile north of Ringwood OK. Besides a winery they also have a 100-year-old bed & breakfast and church. It’s a really nice setup if you looking to get married or just like to get away for the weekend. The gift shop was smaller and the wine, which is what we were looking for, wasn’t displayed very well. All you could see was the bottom of the bottles in one rack as you walked in. The prices were a little higher so I only bought one bottle called Sooner Spirit at $14.95. They had a different one called Cowboy Blush which Rachel liked but I being a diehard Sooner fan would die before having something to do with “cowboys” in my house. I did buy my daughter a tee shirt and myself a hat. The trip back was nice and overall it was a very pleasant day with my daughter.

Took a little trip on the my bike Aug 2007 with my Daughter, Rachel. Our first stop was to the Plain View Winery located in the small town of Lahoma OK on highway 412. Just like the name implies, it is on the highway in “plain view” on the west side of the small town. We were warmly welcomed as we entered the spacious gift shop. They have a lot more than just wine. They have a nice selection of cheeses that we were offered to sample as well as pickles and buffalo sausage. I passed on the sausage but Rachel seemed to enjoy it. We tasted several flavors of wine from sweet to dry expected to the unusual like jalapeno/raisin. I bought two bottles of the Raspberry Wine one for the collection and one to drink. They said it was their best seller by far and we could see why and at only ten dollars a bottle to boot!

The gentleman running the winery was very informative about wines. More information than I really wanted. Gave my daughter and myself a lesson on how wines are graded on sweetness. Insisted we try every wine starting with the dry wines and working up to the sweeter wines. I don’t care for a lot of the dryer wines. I prefer the sweeter wines and he has some really good ones. I mention that he needs to list better directions on his web page. I missed the turnoff to the winery twice. The web page said to go one mile but it’s actually about one block and you have to look for a very small sign. I will return.
