Zaca Mesa Winery (written May 11, 2008)
Wine: 4 stars Winery: 4 stars Ambiance: 5 stars
One of the oldest wineries in the now-crowded Santa Ynez district, Zaca Mesa is at the far end of Foxen Canyon Road but very much worth the drive. Reflecting their longevity, this is a wonderfully unpretentious and friendly stop with interesting and unusual offerings at prices that are very attractive, especially considering their outstanding product. Highly recommended - just don't tell everyone, OK?

Delicato Vineyards (written May 11, 2008)
Wine: 3 stars Winery: 4 stars Ambiance: 3 stars
Very modestly priced winery with a large and varied selection. Features interesting blends and the common varietals. This is an excellent stop for some vin ordinaire, everyday bottles that won't break the budget but offer real value and the occasional gem. Prices range for 6 or 7 bucks to 11 or 12.
