John's Wine Journal Entries

Raven's Glenn Winery (written Oct 21, 2009)
Wine: 5 stars Winery: 4 stars Ambiance: 4 stars
Ok I have a lot to say about this place, we rather enjoy the smaller family owned type wineries, not the big tourist type places, ( like this place) because of the more quite, personal type setting, and because in most cases the price's are not elevated. With that being said, we didn't mind taking a case home from here, the "wine tasting tours" were set up very well and the girl that took care of us was very personable ( Jess I think ) the prices are a little steep but in most cases justified. For a tourist trap this is one of the best.

Shawnee Springs Winery (written Oct 21, 2009)
Wine: 4 stars Winery: 4 stars Ambiance: 5 stars
The owners were the greatest, the setting was fantastic, and they offer a park like setting for you to enjoy for free. Not a lot of sweet wines but some very good wines. NOT FOR THE SWEET DRINKER.

Al-Bi Winery Co (written Oct 21, 2009)
Wine: 5 stars Winery: 3 stars Ambiance: 5 stars
This is one of the wife's favorite so far, most of the wines are on the sweet side and that is what she likes. We didn't get a chance to meet the owner but the guy that was there was very fun. if you are part of the sweet crowd plan on taking a case home.

Rainbow Hills Vineyards (written Oct 21, 2009)
Wine: 4 stars Winery: 4 stars Ambiance: 5 stars
This is a great little place to visit, the guy ( sorry don't remember your name ) was a lot of fun to talk to and was very informative.
