Sugar Creek Winery and Vineyards (written Aug 02, 2010)
Wine: 3 stars Winery: 4 stars Ambiance: 5 stars

The most fun of the Augusta wineries. Red wines are superior. Can't say the same for the dry whites. You can still bring in your own food and snacks!

Montelle Winery (written Aug 02, 2010)
Wine: 4 stars Winery: 1 stars Ambiance: 5 stars

Free tastings and good wine. You can't bring in your own food, which is getting to be the trend for wineries. A place where you can buy wine, but can't bring in your own food should be called a restaurant.

Mount Pleasant Winery (written Aug 02, 2010)
Wine: 4 stars Winery: 1 stars Ambiance: 3 stars

They charge for tastings AND reserved seating. I don't know why anyone goes there. Walk a block to the Augusta Winery and get a free knowledgeable tasting and drink superior wine. You can get better service and better wine at any good restaurant. If you can't bring in your own food, you should be called a restaurant.

Ciccone Vineyard and Winery (written Aug 02, 2010)
Wine: 3 stars Winery: 3 stars Ambiance: 1 stars

Not a very helpful staff. Wines mediocre

Bel Lago Winery (written Aug 02, 2010)
Wine: 5 stars Winery: 5 stars Ambiance: 4 stars

Favorite Wine: pinot gritio and chardonnay blend

Absolutely great dry white wines. Reasonably prices. Chardonnay, Gervurstraminer, Auxerrois, pinot gris. We bought plenty and brought it home.

Augusta Winery (written Aug 02, 2010)
Wine: 5 stars Winery: 5 stars Ambiance: 3 stars

The very best wines in Augusta and probably in Missouri. Prices are very reasonable. Love the dry reds. I can't say enough good about this winery. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.

Chandler Hill Vineyards (written Aug 02, 2010)
Wine: 2 stars Winery: 5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars

My wife and I had two tastings a bottle of wine and sandwiches. It cost $60. We could have had a great lunch for that. Instead we got two tiny sandwiches and mediocre wine with a great view.

Villa Antonio Winery (written Aug 02, 2010)
Wine: 1 stars Winery: 5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars

Favorite Wine: None

My wife and bought both the Seyval Blanc and the Cayuga White. They were barely drinkable. Very light, watery and metallic. The worst white Missouri wine I have had. We've been going to Mo wineries since 1982 and these were terrible. Very beautiful winery however.
